Former prime minister and Nepali Congress senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba said on Friday that it was impossible to scrap the Questionnaire Committee endorsed by the Constituent Assembly.
“The proposal cannot be scrapped, amended or revoked,” said Deuba. “The opposition parties should seek consensus within the committee,” he said, while accepting a memorandum submitted by the Reporter’s Club.
He said that CA Chairman Subas Nembang had proposed the committee as per the rules so removing it would undermine the Assembly. “I still see the chances of negotiation, cooperation and consensus among the parties. The agitating parties should come to the negotiating table.”
